200 million Twitter users are victims of hacking

Alarming news has been reported that more than 200 million Twitter users have had their email addresses stolen by hackers, according to Israeli cybersecurity-monitoring form Hudson Rock.

As Hudson Rock’s co-founder, Alon Gal, puts it: “It’s one of the most significant leaks I’ve seen.” source

Despite the announcement being posted on 24 December, it appears that neither Elon Musk nor anyone else at Twitter has responded to enquiries about the breach since that date, so it is still unknown whether Twitter have taken any steps to investigate or remediate the alleged leak.

Commenting on the breach, Simon Simmons, CEO of cyber defence company, GBMS Tech said: “The current model of ‘monitor and remediate’ is simply not working, which is why we are providing the only known software that has never been breached and proactively stops ransomware and malware dead in its tracks. You wouldn’t want a doctor that refuses to vaccinate you, just so he can sell you pills for the rest of your life, so why pay cyber security firms to wait for you to get hacked so they can then try to fix your problem?”
